Stand Up is born as a material and sinuous presence. The figure sits with her back turned, an artistic nude with hair gathered, shifting slightly in profile with hands resting on the knee. The play of light and shadow across the surface creates depth, highlighting the relief and sinuosity of the figure.
The surface is alive, marked by the undulating palette knife lines that shape the figure. Every trace remains visible, every imperfection becomes language. The Smussato technique emerges in its physicality, revealing the time and intensity of the gesture.
This bas-relief does not tell a story, but manifests a condition: presence suspended between energy and silence. The material embraces the figure, providing relief and depth without mediation.
