My vortices are born from a gesture that does not seek direction, but listening.
They are movements impressed into matter, slow or intense rotations that hold energy, memory, and breath.
Within the vortex, form is never static. It coils, opens, contracts.
The surface becomes living skin, crossed by lines that follow an inner rhythm, as if matter itself remembers its original motion.
Each vortex is a point of passage.
It does not represent, it occurs.
It is the place where fullness meets emptiness, where light slides along the ridges and gathers in the depths, creating a continuous tension between the visible and the invisible.
I work the bas-relief by allowing matter to guide me.
The vortex emerges as a trace of suspended time, a threshold where the eye loses itself and the body recognizes a primordial call. It is not chaos. It is an inner order that pulses silently, ready to dialogue with those who choose to pause and listen.
