Michela Fabeni Art Gallery | Bas-Reliefs | When the Artwork Breaks Free: Art as a Trace of Time and Transformation of the Gaze

Every artwork is born from my present moment, a direct reflection of my state of mind and the time I am living in. Yet, once it is created, it no longer belongs to me.
The artwork is released.
It becomes something else.
It is no longer just the result of a gesture or a personal vision, but an open entity, ready to transform through the eyes of those who encounter it. Each person who stops in front of an artwork brings their own emotions, memories, and thoughts. And in that moment, the artwork changes, taking on new meanings, new identities, new lives.
Art is never static.
It is relationship, exchange, passage.
Within this silent dialogue between the creator and the observer, the artwork finds its true strength: remaining eternal while constantly changing. Every gaze renews it, every interpretation allows it to be reborn.
I feel a deep need to leave a trace of the time I am living in. A fragment that speaks of who we are today, not as a certainty, but as a sensitive testimony. A message cast into time, destined for those who will come after, ready to be reborn infinitely in ways I cannot even imagine.
It is through this continuous transformation that art transcends time, escapes possession, and becomes living memory.
Every artwork is a present moment set free into the future. www.michelafabeniart.com

Art lives when it no longer belongs to me. Every gaze is a new beginning. What I create today is a fragment for those yet to come. Follow my creative journey, artistic diary, the metamorphoses of the artworks on all social. @michelafabeniart
