The white monochromatism emphasizes the forms and shifts the focus to three-dimensionality and the interplay of light and shadow, creating a dialogue between movement and stillness. It amplifies a sense of purity and intimacy, the idea of a new beginning, of something that reveals itself in its most authentic essence, leaving space for inner reflection and a feeling of quiet and contemplation.
The circular shape of the canvas, often associated with concepts of perfection, infinity, and cyclicity, adds dynamism and uniqueness, distancing itself from traditional formats. This creates a sense of continuity and harmony.
The curved, sinuous, and fluid lines seem to follow an organic, undulating movement, as if inspired by natural elements (wind, water, hair, vital motion). Something is opening, unfolding outward — a delicate yet powerful transformation that suggests freedom, energy, and change, evoking a sense of lightness, harmony, connection with nature, and the dynamism of life itself.
The irregular yet cohesive rhythm of the reliefs suggests a continuous flow. The texture is intense and layered, with undulations and layers that open and rise, creating a strong tactile effect, like a metaphor for interiority, inviting the viewer to perceive the work not only visually, but almost physically.
It succeeds in uniting a well-executed technique, with careful attention to detail and tactile exploration, with a powerful emotional expressiveness that, through sinuous forms and the use of white, enhances a feeling of lightness and spirituality, making it not only a visual object but also a contemplative experience.
Its unfolding evokes images of birth, transformation, and revelation, like a flower opening, a shell revealing a pearl, or a chrysalis releasing a butterfly. It indicates a natural process of growth, an opening outward that implies freedom, vulnerability, and a new beginning.
The light interacting with the material surfaces accentuates the movement, symbolizing the vital energy that accompanies the unfolding.
The work of art embodies a universal poetics that touches the deepest chords of human experience. www.michelafabeniart.com
