The Medusa Woman emerges from the blue sea, her body transforming into a serpent, hair turning into flowing, faceless snakes.

Gold and silver illuminate her suspended movement between water and light. In my Smussato, matter vibrates and becomes living energy, fullness and void converse.

A meeting of myth and nature, mystery and motion.

Medusa is a bas-relief that reinterprets the famous Greek mythological figure in a marine and contemporary key. The artwork (65 x 90 cm) merges the female figure with the serpentine motion of her tail and tentacle-like hair, shaped with a spatula and raw organic materials, creating a three-dimensional texture that seems to come alive.

Pearlescent pigments and iridescent colors give the piece an ethereal quality, evoking marine light reflections and the feeling of a creature emerging from the depths. Medusa here does not inspire terror, but expresses power, harmony, and seduction, becoming a symbol of natural and mysterious transformation.

The color palette, dominated by deep blues and enriched with warm copper and gold highlights, emphasizes the dialogue between mythology and the artist’s personal interpretation, transforming the work into a meditation on the duality of beauty and danger, strength and vulnerability.

Medusa invites the viewer to explore the symbolic depths of myth and to engage with the transformative power of nature and art.
