Michela Fabeni tells her story: matter speaking beneath the skin
There is a point where matter ceases to be a surface and begins to breathe. This is where the work of Michela Fabeni, Artist of the Third Millennium, takes shape — where the gesture does not impose but listens, and form emerges as revelation.
Working with bare hands and a spatula, Michela shapes bas-reliefs on canvas, transforming matter into a living field of emotions. Each piece is crossed by light and shadow, solids and voids, engaged in a sensitive balance. There is no imposed design, only a continuous process of listening.
Born in Rome in 1975, she developed a personal technique called Smussato, combining direct skin contact with precise control of the gesture. Her works are not only to be observed: they are to be felt. Matter becomes skin, memory, breath.
In less than two years, she has created nearly 300 works, building an intense and coherent path in which each piece is an authentic fragment of her inner world. A reflection of the soul that meets the viewer without mediation.
The project Fragments is the natural extension of this vision: a journey that intertwines bas-reliefs, music and words. Each soundtrack accompanies images of the creative process, shaping a sensory experience that does not ask to be explained, but to be lived.
Through her website, Michela opens access to a universe made of living matter, deep listening and timeless visions. Her works do not seek to be understood: they invite to be crossed.
Michela Fabeni, does not follow trends. She shapes them. Every gesture is an act of revelation, every canvas a territory where the boundary between art and life dissolves.
