Underwater is a bas-relief on canvas (65 x 90 cm) through which I explore a submerged, intimate, and primordial dimension. The work unfolds as an immersion: a slow, silent crossing where the boundaries between body, nature, and cosmos dissolve.
The female figure moves within a continuous flow, as if traversed by the same light that filters through water. The movement is not descriptive but perceptual: an inner oscillation, a deep breath that guides the gaze beyond the surface.
The material is shaped with a palette knife, using organic elements and iridescent metallic pigments that respond to light and transform with observation. The three-dimensionality is not only physical but sensory. The artwork shifts over time, space, and perception.
The golden figure, suspended and fluid, evokes archetypal and mythological symbolism. I perceive her as a contemporary goddess of nature, a guardian of balance between the human and the universal. The body is not form, but vital energy, a point of contact between the visible and the invisible.
My visual language exists in a dialogue between symbolism and contemporary informal art. The material density and texture may recall artists such as Jean Fautrier and Alberto Burri, yet what guides my work is a primordial, almost Renaissance-like spirituality, where the human body is sacred, generative, and central.
In Underwater, the dynamism of detail coexists with profound stillness. I do not depict an image, but a state of being. A return to origin. A threshold to cross.
