Faceless Angels: the Spiritual Meaning in Michela Fabeni Contemporary Bas-reliefs

There are angels without faces.

Perhaps because they do not belong to a single face.

They are presences that pass through our lives quietly.

Souls that arrive when we least expect them and, even for a moment, illuminate our path.

Angels do not live only in the sky.

They live in encounters, in the people who reach out to us, in the eyes that understand us without words.

This is why in my artworks angels have no faces.

I remove the features to leave space for the essence, for what cannot be seen but can be felt.

Matter becomes the memory of a presence. Light becomes wing. Each angel I model is an invitation to remember that luminous presences truly exist in life.

Sometimes they stay forever. Sometimes they walk with us only for a short part of the journey.

But they always leave a trace in the heart.
