PRESS RELEASE On March 24, 2026, Michela Fabeni presented her artwork, contemporary sculptural bas-relief on canvas, Smussato Technique, bare hands and palette knife, gold leaf Ant, Guardian of the Minimum in the Waste and Surplus section of the exhibition Cibo condito ad Arte: siamo quello di cui ci nutriamo, at the Assessorato all’Agricoltura, Ambiente e Ciclo dei Rifiuti in Rome, with the presence of Councilor Sabrina Alfonsi and the project founders Alessandra Degni and Simona Sarti.
Step by step, the little ant continues its journey. Small, silent, almost invisible, it holds ancient knowledge: collecting what others ignore, transforming waste into resource, fragment into nourishment. In this tiny gesture lies a profound lesson: in nature nothing is truly useless.

With her 25 cm golden bas-relief on a round canvas, Michela Fabeni shows how even the smallest fragments have value. The ant works in a community, and each individual gesture contributes to a collective balance, reminding us that what we call waste can become life.
